About the procedure

What is postnatal breast contouring?

After giving birth, and particularly after breastfeeding, the vast majority of women experience changes to their breasts. During pregnancy, the breasts may appear fuller and larger, but the real shock comes when a woman stops breastfeeding and her breasts cease to produce milk – they seem empty and their shape is often rather unflattering.

Postnatal breast contouring offers an effective solution. We offer the unique Premier Lift procedure, which does not leave the classic ‘T-shaped scar’ – your breasts will once again have a full and beautiful shape.

How the procedure is carried out

1. Consultation
The whole process begins with a face-to-face consultation, during which you will share your ideas with us and we will discuss your options together. We will create a 3D visualisation and select the most suitable surgical technique. This also includes a medical examination to determine whether your state of health allows for the procedure and to rule out any potential post-operative complications.

2. Operation
You will arrive at the clinic on the day of the operation. You need not worry about pain, as you will be under gentle anaesthesia throughout the procedure.

3. Breast reduction (if required)
Some women wish to combine breast reshaping with a breast reduction. During this procedure, excess sagging skin, excess fatty tissue and part of the mammary gland are removed; where necessary, the areola is repositioned and its size adjusted. The breasts are reshaped and the incisions are closed with internal absorbable sutures.

The cost of postnatal breast contouring

The final price depends on the extent of the procedure chosen. Indicative price list:

  • Post-natal breast contouring – from 73,300 CZK
  • Breast reshaping – from 54,500 Kč
  • Breast reduction – from 75,250 Kč
  • Breast reshaping + augmentation – from 65,300 CZK

Recovery after the procedure

After the operation, you should expect to spend one more night at the clinic. Before we discharge you to recover at home, you will be given all the necessary instructions. Part of your recovery involves wearing a special bra to help maintain the shape of your bust.

We’ll then meet at least once a year for regular check-ups to ensure that everything is fine and that no unwanted changes are occurring.

When should I have breast surgery after breastfeeding?

The best time is one year after giving birth if you do not intend to breastfeed. If you do intend to breastfeed, breast surgery is recommended one year after you have finished breastfeeding.

What are the possible complications and risks associated with postnatal breast reshaping?

Thanks to modern surgical techniques and gentle anaesthesia, complications are very rare, but they cannot, of course, be completely ruled out. Nausea following anaesthesia or an allergic reaction to medication may occur; infection is rare. Bruising is common, but this usually disappears within a short time.

In what circumstances is it advisable to opt for breast reshaping after giving birth?

It is best to decide on a breast contouring procedure once you no longer plan to have any more children – every pregnancy and subsequent breastfeeding has a significant impact on the shape of the breasts and may alter them again. If you are unhappy with your breasts but are planning to have more children in the future, please come for a consultation and we will find a suitable solution for you nonetheless.

How long does a breast reduction operation take?

Breast reduction surgery under general anaesthetic takes approximately two to three hours.
